Presentation learning objectives
This workshop is designed to help you:
- Understand how cultural competency has evolved over time.
- Recognize why our current approach to cultural competency training is inefficient.
- Understand and explain to other a new model that is rooted in theoretical and empirical science.
- Understand and explain to others, in a practical manner, how to implement this model so that trainees learn skills to effectively communicate and function within any given diverse context or encounter.
- Recognize possible challenges to implementing this skill-based model, as well as, potential ways of circumventing such challenges.
