Elements of quality clinically focused postdoctoral training

CENTER Psychology & Consulting is a thriving and busy private practice setting with multiple practitioners to learn from and collaborate with. We provide psychological services for children and families from preschool through high school, as well as limited assessment and consultation services for young adults. We utilize a therapeutic collaborative assessment model in our practice and provide a high level of service and support to our families. 

Residents may choose to focus on working with preferred age ranges, as well as a variety of presenting issues. There are learning opportunities in specialized areas of neuropsychology, health psychology, and clinical psychology. The training focus includes understanding unique needs in private practice while continuing to develop professional autonomy. 

With the support of high quality, targeted didactics offered through the Arizona Psychology Training Consortium, this residency meets all Houston Guideline requirements should the resident choose to pursue board certification in neuropsychology. 

Specialties at CENTER include. but are not limited to, neurodevelopmental disorders, learning disorders, anxiety and mood disorders. Diagnostic services include comprehensive neuropsychological assessment, psychoeducational assessment, developmental assessment, and gifted assessment. Consultation services include diagnostic interviews, brief interventions, referrals for treatment, screening and parent education. Therapeutic services (if you choose to provide these as part of your training goals) include mind-body integrative approaches, psychotherapy for children, adolescents, parents, and families, mindfulness training, and supportive psychotherapy. 

Other services include parent workshops and training/education with professionals at schools and in the community.

The resident will divide their time as follows depending on their training goals: 50% Evaluation, 20% Consultation, 30% Report Writing
