The Psychology Postdoctoral Residency at Copa Health is a one-year (12 months), full-time program offering Fellows the opportunity to work and learn collaboratively with other providers and multidisciplinary treatment staff in a large, urban, fast-paced integrated health setting. Operating within a practitioner-scholar model, the Postdoctoral Fellowship program offers two Fellowship positions at one of our clinics within one generalist training track consisting of distinct rotations, with an emphasis on integrated health, serious mental illness, psychotherapy, and program development and/or testing. Postdoctoral training experiences are currently being offered within the Integrated Health Services with opportunities to complete rotations in the Community Integration/Residential Services department, secure residential facilities (end of 2024), staff development, or testing. Fellows may serve on various program committees, depending on need and interests. Fellows carry out professional duties within Copa Health, such as conducting assessments, providing clinical interventions or consultations, serving as fully functioning members of multidisciplinary treatment teams, and attending and offering presentations or seminars. Fellows will also have the opportunity to gain experience in testing (as it gets incorporated to our clinics) and provide supervision to practicum students as part of their experience. As trainees, they are offered ongoing support, supervision, and assistance throughout these experiences. The Postdoctoral Fellowship program promotes successful completion of supervised hours for Arizona’s licensure requirements for future psychologists while simultaneously increasing Copa Health’s capacity to provide direct psychological services to meet the behavioral health needs of individuals and families.
