Mind Therapy Clinic (MTC) is a private psychiatric clinic in the Bay Area specializing in interdisciplinary care, with a continuum of treatment from standard outpatient services to intensive outpatient and partial hospital programs (IOP/PHP). All patients in our programs have access to individual therapy, family/couples therapy, group therapy, case management and pharmacotherapy. We strive to offer personalized care, tailoring treatment plans to each patient's specific needs and goals. MTC offers the unique and rewarding experience of being able to work intensively with patients at a program level of care, then continuing to work with them as they step-down to outpatient services.
Fellows will have the opportunity to work in our IOP and PHP seeing a small caseload of individuals, couples, and/or families, co-facilitating groups, and participating on the clinic admissions team. Fellows will also have the experience of maintaining a caseload of outpatient clients, which may include children and adolescents depending on the interest of the trainee. This training experience is ideal for candidates who enjoy the teamwork, case complexity, and structure of working with patients at the programmatic level and are also seeking the balance and flexibility that comes along with more standard private practice models. Fellows will have the opportunity to identify specific areas of specialty that they would like to develop and complete rotations with experienced supervisors in these areas (see below). The fellowship year also includes trainee specific case consultation, formal didactics, clinic-wide consultation meetings, and other learning opportunities for fellows.
Potential Areas of Specialization: Couples and family therapy; Group psychotherapy (both process and skills focused groups); Evidence based assessment and treatment of specialty populations including those with PTSD, Substance Use Disorders, and Personality Disorders; Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (supervision in individual therapy and group treatment, and participation in consultation team); Private practice administration and leadership; Supervision and training of other mental health professionals.
